Dr. Ashish Sharma

He currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Amity School of Communication at Amity University Madhya Pradesh. Before this role, he was associated with Chandigarh University. He has also held the position of Head of Department [IC] at the School of Media Studies at Presidency University Bangalore. His previous professional engagements include working at IMS University Dehradun, APG Shimla University Shimla, and ITFT College Himachal Pradesh. In addition, he worked as a Guest Faculty at ICDEOL, Himachal Pradesh University. Dr. Sharma successfully earned his PhD in Journalism and Communication, with a particular focus on Political Communication, from Amity University Madhya Pradesh, India. Accumulating over 13 years of experience, he possesses a diverse background that encompasses both academia and industry. Dr. Sharma specializes in the areas of Media Literacy, Political Communication, and Mobile Journalism. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was awarded the inSiG Fellowship in 2020 (Indian Fellow of the Indian School of Governance). Furthermore, he holds the distinction of being a Certified Trainer under the BBC Young Reporter India initiative Program 2021 for Media Literacy, where he conducted workshops addressing the challenge of fake news and political disinformation in esteemed educational institutions across the country.
