Schools to Re-open from 21st September? Fake forward

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. are turning into hubs of fake posts and rumors. Recently, a viral WhatsApp message has been circulating on social media wherein it claims that the Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has said that schools will be reopening in a phased manner from September 21.

The claim states that schools will be reopened for students of Class 1 to Class 12 in a phased manner beginning from September 21. A fact check by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) termed the claim as fake and stated that the Education Minister has not made any such statement. Under Unlock 4, students of the 9th-12th class can go to school for discussions with teachers that too on a voluntary basis.
