An advertisement seeking 5285 posts in the Indian Railways is making rounds on the internet after the Indian Railways issued a clarification for the advertisement and termed it fake. Ministry of Railways has said that advertisement for any Railway recruitment has always been done by the Indian Railways only it continues to do so. In the clarification, the Ministry said that no private agency has been authorized to issues any such recruitment notifications. The Ministry said they have noticed an advertisement calling for applications for recruitment by an organization named Avestran Infotech in a prominent newspaper. The advertisement showcased 5285 vacancies across eight categories on outsourcing basis on Indian Railways on 11 years contract.
The applicants have been asked to deposit an online fee of 750 rupees and have been given a deadline for the acceptance of applications as 10th September. Ministry of Railways said, that the issuing of the advertisement by the organisation in question is illegal.
The ministry made it clear, that the recruitment of various categories of Group āCā and erstwhile Group āDā posts on Indian Railways is presently catered to by 21 Railway Recruitment Boards and 16 Railway Recruitment Cell only and no other agencies or organisation s have the power to do so. Vacancies on Indian Railways are filled up by giving wide publicity through Centralized Employment Notifications.
In addition to this, the Ministry also said that “the Railways have not authorized any private agency as yet to do the recruitment of staff on its behalf as claimed by the agency in question. Railways have initiated the investigation and are going on to take the strictest action as per law against the agency and persons involved in the matter”.
